Helping you say what you mean and get the results you need
My name is Elizabeth Friauf*. Everyone calls me Betsy.
I’m a versatile writer and editor with decades of experience in many communication roles. In my decades-long career I’ve honed many skills that I’m eager to put to work for you:
· fast-paced journalism-style stories
· simplifying scientific and medical matters for lay readers
· witty and thoughtful writing on a wide variety of topics ranging from gardening and food – I made Lembas bread, à la J.R.R. Tolkien, and penned an entertaining article – to exercise and weight management
· seasonal how-to’s and “listicles” on many topics, from Easter baskets without candy to putting spirituality back into Christmas
· editing for brevity, clarity and conformity to styles ranging from Associated Press to Chicago Manual and everything in between (Oxford comma, anyone?)
o quick-turnaround editing to make your letter, article, book or paper its very best
o coaching so you can polish and professionalize your emails and letters
Have a look at my resumé of my past work through July 2020. On Jan. 4, 2021, I began a new job as Clinical Communications Senior Specialist for Children’s Health-Dallas. I’ve been a writer, editor and communications pro for newspapers, city government, a leading medical school and health science center. My wide variety of clients have included the American Heart Association, the Dallas Morning News, and authors of books ranging from a gangland crime novel to a manual for professionals helping traumatized children to an attorneys’ guide to federal regulations.
*BTW, my last name, Friauf, is pronounced “Free-off.”
